Ann J. CollinsWEST COLUMBIA -- Funeral services for Ann J. Collins, 78, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Greenwood Baptist Church, 2401 Claussen Rd., Florence, SC 29505 with interment to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Florence. Mrs. Collins was born January 24, 1939 in Hartsville, SC and passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn Polson Johnson. She graduated from McLeod Nursing School, in Florence, before working with her husband to form a family business. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and loved all of her grandchildren very much. Mrs. Collins was a very talented artist and musician who also enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a faithful member of Greenwood Baptist Church where she taught pre-school Sunday school for many years.Mrs. Collins is survived by her daughter, Tamie Harris (Chris) of Lexington; son, Jay (Cynthia) Collins of Florence; grandchildren, Allison Whittington of Lexington, Ryan Thomas, Jordan Thomas (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC, Emily Thomas of Raleigh, NC; four great- grandchildren, Taylor, Noah, Ashton and Chloe; sister, Peggy Johnson Odom of Boiling Springs; brother, Walter Johnson, Jr. (Linda) of Hartsville; special pup, Penny and special niece, Shannon Casey. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack C. Collins.The family would like to express our sincere heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Maggie, Diana, Patricia, Doris, Theresa and Sandra.
